At Chocolate Pizza Company, our goal has always been simple: every order should arrive looking just as beautiful and tasting just as delicious as it did when it left our kitchen. That commitment to quality is at the heart of every Chocolate Pizza®, Peanut Butter Wings®, and handcrafted chocolate gift we make.

Unfortunately, summer doesn’t always cooperate.

Chocolate is one of the most temperature-sensitive foods there is. Once temperatures climb above about 75°F, it begins to soften and melt. During July and August, delivery trucks, warehouses, and even a few minutes on a customer’s front porch can expose packages to temperatures well over 100°F. Even with insulated packaging and cold packs, those extreme conditions make it increasingly difficult—and increasingly expensive—to guarantee that chocolate will arrive in perfect condition.

This year, with shipping costs continuing to rise and weather forecasts predicting another hotter-than-average summer across much of the country, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause nationwide shipping during July and August.

We’ll continue shipping orders through June 30 using our insulated packaging and expedited delivery methods. Any orders placed before June 30 will be shipped and delivered as scheduled. Beginning July 1, we’ll temporarily suspend shipping and plan to resume on September 1, when cooler temperatures allow us to once again deliver the premium experience our customers expect.

While we know this may be disappointing for customers who enjoy sending chocolate gifts throughout the summer, we’d rather temporarily pause shipping than risk your gift arriving melted or damaged. We believe the quality of what’s inside the box is just as important as the excitement of opening it, and we’re simply not willing to compromise on either.

• Last day to place shipping orders: June 30

If you’re local to Central New York, don’t worry—we’re still making chocolate all summer long! Our retail store in Marcellus will remain stocked with your favorite treats, and you’ll also find Chocolate Pizza Company products at many of our retail partners, including Wegmans, Byrne Dairy, Stewart’s Shops, Applegreen travel plazas, and numerous specialty retailers throughout the region.

Need a gift for someone outside the area? Our gift cards are available year-round on our website and make a perfect option until shipping resumes in September.

One final reminder: our handcrafted chocolates have a shelf life of six months or longer when stored properly. That means now is an excellent time to stock up for summer birthdays, family reunions, cookouts, vacations, and other special celebrations.
