FAQ

We highly encourage placing your order online as these go directly into our production schedule. Online orders also provide you with confirmation email showing your order total so you have a receipt. Then, when your order ships, you receive an email with the tracking information so you know exactly when your order arrives. Finally, if there is a problem with your order or in shipping we can easily investigate the issue because the order is in our system. Phone orders are processed manually and do not offer those services.

Delivery dates are estimates only. We cannot guarantee a specific date or time of delivery as these depend on the carrier’s procedures, routes, schedules and other factors outside our control. The best advice for customers desiring a package to arrive on or before a certain date is to order as far in advance as possible. NOTE: SHIPMENTS TO PO BOXES TYPICALLY TAKE LONGER THAN THE ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES (UP TO 20 DAYS TO DELIVER ACCORDING TO THE US POST OFFICE).

Chocolate melts within minutes at temperatures above 75 degrees. We want your chocolate to arrive in the same high quality condition that it left our facility in. For that reason, orders to warm weather destinations are packed in an insulated box with frozen ice packs. Shipping charges to warm weather destinations are considerably higher than standard rates because they reflect the added cost of shipping with insulated boxes and ice. But it is the only way to ensure our chocolate arrives safely. We also highly recommend that you alert the recipient of a package coming to them so they can retrieve it promptly on delivery. If you have any questions, please contact us.

The reality is that there is no such thing as “free shipping”. No carrier moves goods across town or across the country for free. When a company advertises “free shipping” that means they have inflated the price of their products to cover the expense of shipping it. We don’t do that. We simply pass through what the carrier charges us to ship your order. In fact, often we charge less than what it costs us so we can minimize the impact of shipping on you. Carriers are increasing their rates as the cost of fuel, labor, maintenance and other factors rise. The weight of the package, the distance it travels and the choice of standard or express delivery all factor into shipping charges. For warm weather destinations, there is also the added expense of protecting the chocolate with insulated boxes and chill packs. This is necessary to keep the chocolate from melting. Local customers can choose to pick-up their order at our Marcellus store at no charge. We know that shipping is not a welcome expense but it is an unavoidable consideration.

NOTE: The impact of the pandemic has increased shipping costs to nearly every destination for all major carriers. Chocolate melts in minutes at temperatures above 72 degrees. We use insulated boxes and ice to ship to warm weather destinations which increases package weight and shipping cost but is the only way to protect the chocolate. Shipping rates are adjusted down when ice shipping is no longer required (seasonal cooling). We highly recommend that you alert the recipient of a package coming to them so they can retrieve it promptly on delivery. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Warm weather presents obvious challenges for shipping chocolate. Chocolate Pizza Company uses insulated shipping boxes and ice packs to keep the chocolate cool during transit but shipping time makes a big difference. Most major carriers do not ship packages over the weekend so to avoid having an order sit idle in a hot warehouse or on a truck we do not ship on Thursdays or Fridays during warm weather for West Coast or Southern destinations. Our shipping team constantly evaluates the weather along the route and makes the best decisions on when to send it to minimize the risk of melting. When shipping to a warm destination, always alert the recipient that a package is on its way so they can retrieve it as soon as it arrives.

For times when you can’t make it our to our Marcellus store, you can check with these local retailers and see what availability they have on some of our products. It is always advisable to contact the retailer first to confirm what they have available.

We do not recommend shipping to a PO Box. The Post Office has informed us that packages shipped to a domestic PO Box can take up to 20 days to arrive. It is a highly unreliable shipping destination but if the customer insists then yes we can ship to a PO Box but we will not be responsible for lost, delayed or damaged product. Also, be advised that estimated shipping times during checkout do not apply to PO Box destinations.

Yes, we are proud supporters of our armed forces overseas and will gladly ship your order to an APO or FPO address. We offer a very special flat rate shipping charge for APO and FPO addresses. To input an APO/FPO address into the SHIPPING DETAILS page; put their unit information into the Street fields, then select “United States” for country (even though it is going out of country), then in the City field type APO or FPO, and in the State field, scroll to the bottom and select either AE or AP depending on the recipient’s military address. Only input the 5-digit zip code (no dash extensions).

Trademarks protect company products in the marketplace from imitators, knock-offs and others who would seek to capitalize on your name, brand or reputation by selling products that are so sufficiently similar in content, title or appearance that it confuses the consumer. Federal law sets very stiff penalties for companies that violate trademarks and Chocolate Pizza Company takes very seriously its responsibility to defend its trademarks.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued Chocolate Pizza Company the following federally registered trademarks:

Chocolate Pizza® | Peanut Butter Wings® | Chocolate Pizza’s Peanut Butter Sparklers® | Chocolate Pizza Company®

Peanut, tree nuts and other nut allergies are a serious concern to millions of people, including members of my own family.  It is important to know that many of our products contain these nuts and all of our products are processed on equipment that uses peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, eggs and soy.

In addition, many of our toppings, particularly some of the candy toppings and sugar decorations may contain common allergens such as eggs, tree nuts, peanuts, dairy, wheat and soy. We list allergens on the ingredient label that all of our products come with.

Gluten is also a focus for many people. Chocolate itself does not contain gluten however there are opportunities in the processing and manufacturing operations to introduce ingredients that do contain gluten and so there is always a risk of exposure. Since many of the products we make do contain gluten, and since all of our products are processed on shared equipment, out of an abundance of caution we do not certify our products as gluten-free.

As with any food product, if there is a health concern regarding potential allergy then it is advisable and prudent to avoid the product. If you have any questions about allergies and our products, then please contact us.

Retailers interested in carrying our famous Chocolate Pizza®, Peanut Butter Wings® and select specialty items should contact us at [email protected]. Please attach the completed “Wholesale Inquiry” information sheet (download).
